Charles Aubrey Smith, 83, of Jemison died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
He was born Tuesday, Aug. 9, 1927, in Chilton County, son of the late Harley Attaway Smith and the late Lettie Ann Morris Smith.
He was an aircraft mechanic.
Surviving are his wife, Bessie Mae Smith of Jemison; three sons, Charles Rodger Smith of Jemison, William Craig (Nancy) Smith of Jemison and Kent Aubrey (Elizabeth) Smith of Huntsville; daughter, Jo Ann Atkinson of Jemison; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; two great grandsons; one great granddaughter; and two sisters, Joyce Irene Killingsworth of Montevallo and Elsie Kathleen Reynolds of Montevallo.
Services were held Saturday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rex Kent officiating.
Interment followed in Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison.
Pallbearers: Joseph Ray Atkinson, David Brent Atkinson, Charles Matthew Atkinson, Craig William Smith, Chad Harley Smith and Chance Anderson Smith.
