A head-on collision Thursday evening on County Road 42 resulted in one fatality and six other people with injuries.

The wreck occurred on 42 near the intersection with County Road 173.

All patients were transported to UAB hospital, three via helicopter.

Information on the victims’ condition was not immediately available.
