Willie Rodgers

Willie Jean Rodgers went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Monday, May 3, 2010. She was a homemaker. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She will truly be missed.

She was born in Chilton County on Sept. 5, 1935, to Lela and Andrew Minor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. Rodgers; daughter, Brenda L. Rodgers; sister, Delene Mims; and brother, James Minor.
She had five children, Rodney Cribbs (Martha), Glenda Brasher (James), Carol Tanton (Gary), Kathy Sullivan (Harold) and Sandra Smitherman (Gary).

She had 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one brother, Travis Adams; and three sisters, Willodean Mims, Mary Ann Brasher and Wanda Martin. Many nieces and nephews she dearly loved.

Friends will be received Wednesday, May 5, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Refuge Baptist Church in Clanton with the Rev. James Cleckler and the Rev. Gary Bean officiating.

Interment will follow in the Refuge Baptist Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home directing.
