Joseph Clyde Roper, 64, of Maplesville died Thursday, April 8, 2010, at his residence.
He was born Thursday, Oct. 25, 1945, in Chilton County, son of the late Chester Roper and the late Allie Davis Roper.
He was a truck driver.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Becky Roper of Maplesville; two sons, Mr. Chris (Debbie) Roper of Clanton and Mr. Greg (Catherine) Roper of Maplesville; five grandsons, Mr. Derrick (Megan Kilgore) Roper of Maplesville, Mr. David Roper of Maplesville, Mr. Kyle Roper of Maplesville, Mr. Tyler Roper of Maplesville and Mr. Dalton Roper of Maplesville; two granddaughters, Mrs. Christina (Greg) Wilkins of Maplesville and Ms. Candice Roper of Maplesville; step-grandson, Mr. Chace Thomas of Billingsley; great-great grandchildren, Kaity and Levi Wilkins of Billingsley; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Alice (Bobby) Mims of Maplesville and Mrs. Sandra Stolze of Louisiana; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were held Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Wyatt officiating.
Interment followed in Sardis Baptist Cemetery.
