Chilton County’s Relay for Life is just around the corner. In less than three weeks, teams will descend upon City Park to raise awareness and money to help fight cancer.

We here at The Clanton Advertiser are working on a special publication to help promote Relay and its cause.

You can’t find a person in the county that hasn’t been affected by cancer. Just in my own family, I’ve had grandparents and several aunts and uncles fight that battle, some to the end of their lives.

In our special publication, we will have information and a schedule for the actual Relay event, but we will also honor the memory of those cancer took from us too soon.

We will also have inspirational stories about cancer survivors, of all ages and backgrounds.

The special section will insert into the paper the morning of Relay, April 30. We will also have copies to distribute during that night’s event.

In the meantime, there’s another way readers can help support this important cause.

For each new person who joins our fan page on Facebook (The Clanton Advertiser), we will donate 10 cents to Relay.
