Mustangs, Rebels both win one

Isabella and Thorsby split a doubleheader Saturday, with Thorsby winning the first game, 6-4, and the hosts winning the second game, 5-3.
Cody Carroll earned the win for Thorsby (12-2), tossing a complete game and striking out 11.
Matt Morgan was 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBI.
For Isabella (5-10), Adam Jones went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Sawyer Cahalane was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Austin Haigler was the losing pitcher.
In the second game, Cahalane tied the game at 3 with a home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Blake Lawley lifted a fly ball to left-center field with a runner on first and two out. Two Thorsby outfielders collided going for the ball, allowing Allen Edwards to score.
Lawley scored on a passed ball.
In the seventh, Jones, the Isabella second baseman, turned a double play to end the game.
“We are an entirely different team,” Isabella coach Clay Shearer said about how his Mustangs have played lately. “Things are finally starting to click a little bit for us.”
Isabella’s Sean Haigler allowed only two hits and struck out five Thorsby batters while pitching a complete game.
Brantley Bice suffered the loss for Thorsby.
