Essie Josephine Tracy, 74, of Clanton died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at her residence in Clanton.
She was born Saturday, June 15, 1935, in Kentucky, daughter of the late Leslie Collins and the late Lucy Pugh Collins.
She was a hotel desk clerk.
Surviving are husband, E. L. “Doc” Tracy of Clanton; two daughters, Helen Chapman of Clanton and Lebra “Mickey” Cleckler of Clanton; son, Gene Tracy of Clanton; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vernice Valentine of Clanton, Elizabeth Partin of Clanton and Violet Padgett of Clanton.
She was preceded in death by son, Leslie “Sparky” Tracy.
Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Plunkett and the Rev. William Earl Short officiating.
Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery located in Clanton.
