Several basketball games involving local teams have been canceled or postponed because schools closed early on Thursday and were closed completely on Friday.

Chilton County was scheduled to visit Marbury on Thursday, and that game has been canceled.

CCHS’s Friday visit to Maplesville was postponed until Saturday. The B-teams will play at 4 p.m. with girls and boys to follow.

Verbena was supposed to host Loachapoka on Thursday, and those games have been rescheduled for Jan. 20, meaning the Red Devils will play back-to-back nights against the Indians.

Both the Thorsby-Isabella and the Verbena-Jemison games scheduled for Friday have been canceled, and no make-up dates have been decided, according to Verbena boys coach Jonathan Shedd and Isabella boys coach Lanny Jones.
