Mulberry to serve 10th Christmas dinner

For the past decade, Mulberry Baptist Church in Isabella has served free Christmas dinners to the community. This year, dinner will be served from noon until 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 25.
The meal is open to everyone. While there is no cost, those requesting a plate must call prior to Dec. 18 with the number of plates needed and contact information. The church may be reached at 755-6816 or 280-1982.
“Our desire at Mulberry is to make sure that everyone experiences the blessing of the Christmas season,” church pastor Mitch Thrower said.
More than 50 volunteers work each year to prepare and serve hundreds of meals. Plates consist of turkey, dressing, ham and all the fixings, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and homemade desserts.
Participants may eat at the church’s family life center, take a carry-out plate, or have a plate delivered to their residence or business. Transportation will be provided to anyone who needs it.
People in need of transportation or delivery should leave directions to their home and a phone number when calling to make a reservation.
“Just like salvation, there is no cost to you. The price has already been paid,” Thrower said.
Mulberry Baptist Church is located on Chilton County Road 15 past Isabella High School.
