Steven Oneal Payton, 43, of Maplesville died Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 at Barbour Medical Center in Eufaula.
He was born on Tuesday, June 21, 1966 in Chilton County, son of the late Carl Oneal Payton and Mary Sue Johnson Cleckler.
Surviving are his mother, Mary Sue Cleckler of Dothan; brother, Benny (Margaret) Payton of Maplesville; two sisters, Pennie Mims of Dothan and Sherry (John) Ware of Southport, Fla.; nephews, Joey Mims, B.J. Payton and Derek Payton; nieces, Jessica Mims, Amber Ware and Amy Ware; great-niece, Brooklyn Mims; and great-nephew, Joseph Speer, Jr.
Friends were received from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. at Billingsley Church of God with the Rev. Wendell Kelley officiating.
Interment will follow in Billingsley Church of God Cemetery in Billingsley.
