Lillie Faye Whatley, 73, a resident of Prattville passed from this life on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, surrounded by her loved ones.
Funeral services will bed held on Friday, Oct. 9 at 9:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Rev. Randy Tucker and Rev. Chuck Francisco officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Currie-Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Hoover with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.
Mrs. Whatley was a devoted mother and grandmother who was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. She was a federal civil service retiree of 30 plus years of service with the 42nd Civil Engineering Squadron’s logistics material control department.
Her parents, Hoyt F. and Veola Harley; one son, Gary Allen Whatley; one grandson, Brentley Esco; and one sister, Annie Mae Murphy, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Esco; three grandchildren, Brandon (Nichole) Esco, Brian Esco and Bradley Esco; two brothers, Miles (Hellon) Hartley and Melvin (Dot) Hartley; one sister-in-law, Carolyn (Willard) Moore; her mother-in-law, Mary Ratliff; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Hartley, Mike Hartley, Jeff Hartley, Bobby Blair, Joe Blair, and Ed Guy.
