Practice sessions for the Chilton County Junior Miss scholarship program are being held each Sunday afternoon during August.

The program will be held Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. in the Chilton County High School auditorium. The deadline for applicants is this Sunday at 2 p.m. in the CCHS auditorium.

The program is open to all senior girls in Chilton County. The winner will receive a scholarship to the school of her choice and an opportunity to represent the county at the state competition in January.

Contestants will be judged in five categories – interview (25 percent), talent (25 percent), scholastics (20 percent), poise (15 percent) and fitness (15 percent). Judged on their abilities instead of beauty, contestants will perform in a group and individually.
