In regard to Sunday’s ALDOT article, the way to solve this problem is to extend Bell Lane to Old Thorsby Road so trucks can make a shortcut to Highway 22 West.

Pinedale, a.k.a. Black Snake, should be opened by Russell to Highway 22 West.

A southbound loop from Highway 22 West to U.S. Highway 31 should be constructed. Bell Lane should be extended west to the Industrial Park and on to Highway 80 per the super airport plans.

Opening these roads would allow City of Clanton to route log trucks and semis around the downtown area and relieve the congestion.
