Relay billboard to name those stricken with cancer

If you have lost a loved one to cancer, or know a cancer survivor, you can honor or memorialize them on a special Relay for Life billboard.
The Chilton County Board of Education’s Relay for Life team is once again sponsoring a billboard to display the names of those affected by the disease.
For just $100 per name, you can have the name of your loved one placed in lights for everyone to see.
And, of course, all of the proceeds will go toward finding a cure for cancer through the American Cancer Society.
“It’s a good way to either remember somebody who has lost their battle with cancer or to honor a survivor,” said Ann Glasscock, Relay co-chairperson for Chilton County. The team’s captain is Kim McKinney.
While the location of the billboard is not yet known, it is being donated by Allen Deason of A&M Outdoor Advertising.
“He’s very generous to donate this to us,” Glasscock said. “We have several people who have been on it every year since we started it. They actually look forward to having their name on the billboard.”
Relay volunteers raised about $3,000 last year on the billboard project alone.
