The classmates of a Falkville High School student who hanged herself in a school restroom believe she was distraught over a romantic breakup.

Falkville Police Chief Chris Free said a staff member found 16-year-old Emily Robbins hanging in a restroom stall at about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. He said Robbins had left a note nearby.

Staff members performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the teen and she was taken to Hartselle Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
