Charles Gilliland

Charles Franklin Gilliland Sr., 75, of Clanton died Sunday, Sept. 21.
He was born Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1932 in Jefferson County, son of the late William McKirley Gilliland and the late Lucile Eaves. He was an engineer teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Gilliland of Clanton; son, Charles Franklin Gilliland Jr. of Dothan; daughter, Carolyn Joy Gilliland Copeland of Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William McKirley Gilliland and a grandson, Benjamin Danna Shelley.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Services will be held today at 3:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matthew Debord and the Rev. Randall Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery, Verbena. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to your favorite charity.
