School is right around the corner, and students are preparing themselves for another year of reading, writing and arithmetic.

Each school will be hosting orientation or registration for the students before the school year begins.

Clanton

Chilton County High School will be holding registration for new students on July 23 and 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Clanton Elementary School is having its orientation on August 7. Kindergarten will be at 5 p.m. First grade orientation will begin at 6 p.m. and second grade will be at 7 p.m. Supply lists can be picked up at the school office or Wal-Mart. Students should bring the supplies to orientation.

Clanton Intermediate School will be holding orientation on August 4 for third grade students, August 5 for fourth grade and August 7 for fifth grade. All orientations will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Supply lists can be picked up at the school office.

Clanton Middle School will have registration and orientation on August 8 at from 12 to 2:30 p.m. Supply lists can be found at http://chilton.k12.al.us/Adair/.

Jemison

Jemison Elementary School will have orientation on August 5 for kindergarten and first grade. Kindergarten orientation will be at 6 p.m., and first grade orientation will begin at 7 p.m. The school requests that all student parents attend orientation.

Jemison Middle School will have registration for new students on August 4 and 5 from 8 to 10 a.m. Returning fifth and six grades will have registration on August 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. Returning seventh and eighth grades will have registration on August 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Supply lists can be found for each grade at http://www.chilton.k12.al.us/JMS/jms.htm.

Jemison High School will have registration in the lunchroom for grades nine through 12. Grade nine registers on July 31 from 1 to 3 p.m. Grade 10 will register on July 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Grade 11 will register on July 30 from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and grade 12 will register on July 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. All fees from the previous school year must be paid to register, and parents must also be present to register their student. All new students must register at the school office on July 29 from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.

Maplesville

All grades will have orientation on August 5 at 7 p.m. at Maplesville High School.

Thorsby

Kindergarten through the third grade will have orientation on August 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Grades four through six will have orientation at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

Isabella

Isabella High School will have registration on July 22 and 23 for all new students. All paperwork must be present at time of registration for new students to be placed on the new school years roll.
