Mr. and Mrs. Steve Penley of Clanton announce the engagement of their son Jeremiah Todd Penley to Cheyenne Summer Weaver daughter of Casey Weaver and Mr. and Mrs. Danny Smith of Millbrook.

Jeremiah is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Millard and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Penley.

Summer is the granddaughter of Carol L. Weaver and the late Clifford A. Weaver Sr. as well as Mr. and Mrs. William D. Smith.

Jeremiah is a 2001 graduate of Jemison High School and is pursuing a business degree at Troy University. Jeremiah is a United States Marine and just returned home from a deployment to Iraq.

Summer is a 2005 graduate of Stanhope Elmore High School. She is also pursuing a business degree at Troy. The couple met while cheering together on the Troy University cheerleading squad.

After a sunset wedding on July 26 at the bride’s home the couple will continue their education in Troy.
