Civic Chorale offers Christmas gift to all

Published Wednesday, November 18, 2009

The Chilton Civic Chorale and Central Alabama Performing Arts along with the Chilton Pops will present a Christmas gift to the people of Chilton County the first weekend in December.

“Carols 2009” will be performed Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Clearview Missionary Baptist Church in Verbena; Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at Bell Lane Baptist Church in Clanton; and Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. at Collins Chapel Baptist Church in Thorsby.

The program will feature both sacred and secular music directed by Brannon Littleton of the Chorale and Randi Penton of the Pops. Jan Pike serves as principal accompanist for the Chorale.

“Carols,” traditionally “kicks off” the holiday season in Chilton County and will include a new feature in this year’s production.

In the final segment of the program, audiences will be invited to join the group for congregational Christmas carol singing. This will be a time for everyone to enjoy singing familiar songs of the season.

All three “Carols” shows will be free and open to the public, but an offering will be appreciated.

It may be simple, but it is very summary. The CCC should change its name out of respect to those who built what it was, because that ain't what it is anymore.
